Latest tests on the injury situation of Ghana international, Laryea Kingston has confirmed that the Hearts midfielder will be back before the start of the African Cup of Nations.

Kingston is expected to return to training early next month and try to be match fit.

The African Cup of Nations begins on January 20 at the Ohene Djan Stadium in the capital, Accra, where the Black Stars play Guinea the first game of the competition from Group A.

Kingston, who damaged ankle ligaments in training two weeks ago, consulted a specialist in London on Monday as scans confirmed the initial verdict by club’s medical staff, that the injury is not severe.

The player is part of the 40-man team roster named on Tuesday that Ghana coach, Claude Le Roy, would be picking his team from for next month’s training camp in the United Arab Emirates.
