He is an ever present feature in the Ghana line up but rarely does he get a place in the squad of English Premiership side, Birmingham City. However, Richard Kingson is prepared to fight for a starting place.

Ghana goalkeeper, Richard Kingson says he would bid his time as he tries to become the regular goalkeeping choice of Birmingham.

Kingson, a regular choice for Ghana is yet to be handed the job of keeping Birmingham off the relegation zone by new coach Alex McLeish since taking over midway into the season.

However, after a long spell away on international duty with Ghana while the English Premiership continued to run, Kingson would return to the Blues faced with a difficult task of earning a place in the squad. But the Ghana first choice has told KickOffGhana that he is not giving up hope yet.

“I will patiently wait for my time,” he said.

“Not many people gave me a chance to clinch a deal in England in the first place, so I will simply leave the decision-making to the coach and carry on with my training.”

Richard Kingson was in post for Ghana in all six matches at the African Nations Cup and helped the Black Stars to win bronze.
