Ghana's Kevin-Prince Boateng is targeting a successful spell at AC Milan, a club he rates as the best club in the world.

The midfielder joined the Italian giants on loan from Genoa on Wednesday and says he is aware he has joined a club rich on history and one capable of challenging for honours at the very highest level.

“Playing for this club was a dream and now I have realised it. I want Milan with all my power, he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I knew of their history. So I knew that I was coming to the most important club in the world. Milan are in first place ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

“Milan have fantastic players, there is nothing to fear. My objective is to help this team do well and get the chance to show my worth in exchange.

Having managed to overcome some past issues that did cast a slur on his reputation, Boateng wants to be judged purely on his football abilities and not events off the field.

“I am a normal 23-year-old guy who loves playing football. I know I have this hunger and I ask for only one thing: judge me on what you see on the pitch. The past is the past. Right now I am only thinking about doing well here.”
