National Women’s Championship debutants, Soccer Intellectuals get off to a cracker after defeating reigning champions, Fabulous Ladies as the competition got underway on Tuesday in Kumasi.

Soccer Intellectuals posted a slim 1-0 victory over the experienced Kumasi-based side at the Prempeh School Park on Day-1 of the Championship.

Grace Adams struck in the 69th minute to down Fabulous Ladies.

In the other games on the day, Ghatel Ladies were held to a 1-1 draw by new entrants Reformers Ladies at the Opoku Ware Park while Hasaacas Ladies also drew 1-1 with Fiapre Ladies at the Wesley College Park.

Day-2 of the Championship pits Fabulous Ladies, who are bottom of the six-team table against Fiapre Ladies at the Wesley College Park.

Following their bright start and with three points in the bag, Soccer Intellectuals face another big test when they play Prempeh School Park.

Hasaacas Ladies would take on Reformers Ladies at the Opoku Ware Park.
