Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom is hoping the Black Stars can go beyond their quarter-final finish at the last World Cup when they arrive in Brazil.

No African side has ever won the World Cup or reached the semi-final with the last eight, the furthest by a side from the continent.

After Ghana made it to the quarters at the last tournament held in South Africa in 2010, Inkoom is optimistic that the Black Stars can improve upon that this time around as they make their third appearance.

The 25-year-old who is putting all transfer talks on the back-burner is keeping his focus on the World Cup where he hopes to add up to his 46th cap for Ghana.

"I am only focused on the World Cup at the moment and giving everything for my country as I did in South Africa 2010 where we reached the quarter finals," Inkoom said.

"I believe we have the quality, experience and team spirit to go even further this time around."

After the World Cup, Inkoom will listen to talk about a potential move away from Dnipro.

"I have left all the interest and talk about my future in the hands of my agent .

"Only when the World Cup is over, then we will sit down and discuss the best direction for my next move.

"Until then, I want zero distractions."
