Asamoah Gyan is expected to make a quick return after scans revealed no major damage to his thigh, the medical head of the Black Stars has confirmed.

Despite no damage to the thigh, the striker suffered contusion in that area, team doctor of the Black Stars, Maj. (Dr) Percy Annan said on Saturday.

"The scans revealed that there was no muscle tear in his thigh but he felt contusion in the area. He would be able to return to action soon," Maj. (Dr) Percy Annan told www.ghanafa.org.

The Sunderland striker, who opened the scoring for Ghana in the 2-0 victory against Swaziland was stretchered off during Friday's Group I fixture of the 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifying.

Gyan is part of the squad named for Monday's international friendly against Brazil at Fulham's Craven Cottage grounds in London.
