Last season’s premiership title sponsor, OneTouch Ghana has shot up their package for the elite competition representing a huge increment for the upcoming season.

The Ghana Football Association today confirmed the signing of a total package of 1.7million GH cedis as the agreed fee with the national cellular network operators.

Each of the sixteen clubs would pick up a cheque of 65,000 GH cedis prior to the start of the new football season to aid their preparations.

OneTouch Ghana, last season won the rights to become the title sponsor of the sixteen-club league with a financial package of 350,000 GH cedis.

Though a significant rise, the FA says other funds would have to been sourced to meet the valuation of the premier league which presently stands at $4 million.

The start date for the new season is been held back due to pending legal cases brought against the Ghana Football Association.

Accra Hearts of Oak would defend the premiership title won last season when the new season kicks off.
