Immigration Ladies ensured they ended the first round of the Women Premier League (WPL) on a positive note by beating Elmina Sea Lions 1-0, their first win this season.

It was an unlikely venue for victory for Immigration Ladies who had struggled to win even at home.

But on a day that saw striker Gifty Appiah in action after an injury layoff, Immigration recorded their first win, albeit by a lone goal to lift themselves from the bottom of the southern zone league table, even for a moment.

Appiah, who came as a substitute for Patience Narh on the 64th minute to play her first game this season, scored deep into injury time to hand her side the win.

The victory leaves Immigration Ladies' record for this season at a win, three drawn games and three defeats with six points.
