
The Board of Accra Hearts of Oak, through its most senior member and former Ghana Football Association President, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Black Queens of Ghana for their bronze medal achievement at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
The senior women’s national team secured a podium finish after a dramatic victory over South Africa, triumphing in a penalty shootout to clinch third place in the tournament on Friday night.
In a message addressed to the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe lauded the team’s courage, determination and ability to reignite national pride through their performance.
“We, the Board of Hearts of Oak, congratulate the Black Queens for their splendid performance, fearless character, and for restoring Ghana to the continental stage,” the message read.
“You have lifted the spirit of the nation and made all Ghanaians proud. This is only the beginning, and we are confident of the future prospects of this team. We stand solidly behind you as you prepare for future international assignments and continue to restore hope to millions of Ghanaians.”
In a spirit of national unity and sportsmanship, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe also commended archrivals Asante Kotoko SC for their impressive triumph over South African giants Kaizer Chiefs in the 2025 Toyota Cup, held in Durban.
“We also congratulate Asante Kotoko for winning the Toyota Cup in South Africa. This victory should inspire all Ghanaian clubs to pursue continental glory. Together, we can continue to rebuild and elevate Ghanaian football on the African stage.”
Asante Kotoko edged Kaizer Chiefs 3-2 on penalties, thanks to a stellar performance by goalkeeper Mohammed Camara at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
