The premiership title could be returning to the capital, Accra after Hearts of Oak gained ground in their quest for glory in the Glo Premier league with an important away win.

As the chasing pack dropped valuable points, the Phobians were 1-0 winners in Kpando over Heart of Lions courtesy a 12th minute strike by Samuel Affum.

Hearts have now opened an 11-point lead at the summit of the league table after sixteen round of matches.

Despite the impressive run by Kosta Papic’s side, champions, Asante Kotoko saw their failing defence become evident at the Swedru Park where they were beaten 2-1 by Gamba All Blacks.

In a game settled by goals from the penalty kicks, Daniel Gyamfi scored twice from the spot in the first half before striker Alex Asamoah got a consolation for the Porcupine Warriors from another penalty kick in the 89th minute.

The Black Magicians thus complete a league double over Kotoko who have seen their much touted campaign for 45 points get off to wrong start.

Hasaacas’ hopes of avoiding relegation continued at the Sekondi Sports Stadium where they beat Berekum Chelsea 2-1.

At the Anane Boateng Stadium, Kessben FC were 3-1 winners over Tema Youth.

In Berekum, Arsenal kept their home invincibility intact after drawing goalless with Eleven Wise while All Stars also drew goalless at the Len Clay Stadium against AshantiGold.

King Faisal failed to maintain the gap at the top and maintain the pressure on the leaders – Hearts of Oak - as they dropped vital points in their 0-0 drawn game at the Baba Yara Stadium with Real Tamale United.

Sporting Mirren and Liberty Professionals played out a 2-2 draw at the Ohene Djan Stadium with Liberty twice coming from behind to draw level.
