Hayatou welcomes Nyantakyi on board

Kwesi Nyantakyi today took his seat on the Caf Executive Committee alongside other newly elected members as they held their maiden meeting, a day after Wednesday's elections.

Caf President Issa Hayatou congratulated and welcomed the new members.

The Ghana Football Association President was elected into office to represent the Zone West B bloc on the Caf Executive Committee after beating Benin’s Moucharafou Anjorin.

The Executive Committee appointed Molefi Oliphant (former CAF Vice President) as a co-opted member in line with Article 22.1 of the CAF statutes.

Thursday's maiden meeting considered the progress report on Gabon and Equatorial Guinea preparations to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2012 with the Executive Committee expressing satisfaction with the level of work in both countries so far.

Also on the agenda was the reports for final tournament of the last U-17 held in Rwanda, Super Cup held in Lubumbashi, DR Congo and the CHAN, which ends Friday.
