CAF President Issa Hayatou has congratulated Africa's five teams that will carry the hopes of the continent at next year's FIFA World Cup.

Ghana and Algeria on Tuesday confirmed their places in Brazil as they brought the continental play-offs to a close, edging Egypt and Burkina Faso to the remaining two slots.

Both countries join Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria who had sealed their places over the weekend.

“On my behalf, the CAF Executive Committee and African football family, I congratulate the five National Associations - Algeria, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire Ghana and Nigeria for qualifying for the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014,” said Hayatou.
