Ghana striker, Asamoah Gyan broke his goal duck on Saturday when he scored his first Ligue 1 goal for French side, Rennes.

Gyan scored the first of Rennes’ two goals to hand them a 2-1 win over Lorient in the Ligue 1. A win which stretches Rennes unbeaten run to 17 and sends them to third, four points adrift the leaders, Lyon.

The striker’s career since switch from Udinese in Italy to Rennes in August has been blighted by injury, restricting him to a handful of games for his new club.

The 23 year-old has played in only five Ligue 1 matches for Rennes, coming on as a substitute in four of those games.

Rennes paid a club record, US$15m for the Ghanaian international.
