Ghana's Asamoah Gyan will miss the rest of the Italian Serie A season after under going surgery o check a recurring groin injury.
Gyan confirmed the length of his absence from the game to local radio station told Peace FM last Saturday.
“It will take two months for me to feel okay so I am definitely out for the rest of the season. It has been a difficult season with two many injuries but we all reasoned that this will be the best time to try to sort out the injury once and for all.”
Gyan has been sidelined by the injury since returning to Italy after the Africa Nations Cup and only returned to training with Udinese last week.
The striker was certain of playing again for Udinese after the Cup of Nations but says the pains after his first training session convinced everyone at the club surgery was the best way out.
