Competition: 2012 African Nations Cup Qualifier

Teams: Ghana v Swaziland

Venue: Accra Sports Stadium - Accra

Date: September 2, 2011

Time: 18:00 GMT [6:00PM Local Time]

Asamoah Gyan will spearhead Ghana's hopes of inching more closer to an African Nations Cup qualification when Goran Stevanovic's side line up against Swaziland on Friday.

The Sunderland striker returns from a three-game suspension after being sent off during a 2012 CAN qualifying home game with Sudan back in October 2010.

Gyan, might have struggled to find the back of the net for his club in the English league, a situation he finds frustrating but remains confident he will come good.

"This time it is not happening and when I assess myself I sometimes ask what is going wrong but this is life and every good thing starts that way," he said.

His self-belief seems to have relaxed his nerves ahead of the game with the Swazis at the Accra Sports Stadium.

"But I hope everything changes and I start banging in the goals."

Gyan and Ghana are very much aware of the stakes of the match which kicks off at 18:00 GMT [6:00PM Local Time].

Three points from today's game and Ghana will be well placed to progress from Group I, which they currently lead on goal difference from second-placed Sudan, who are away to Congo.
