Asamoah Gyan hopes to play an important role for Ghana when the Black Stars renew their rivalry with Nigeria in a friendly on Tuesday.

The Sunderland striker who has scored in the last two meetings says he expects an exciting game but has played down talk that Ghana are underestimating their rivals.

“It’s a dicey match. You never know what would happen. A game like a Ghana-Nigeria, I can’t predict. We would just go out there and do our best,” Gyan told the pre-game press conference at Watford’s Vicarage Road Stadium.

“I expect an interesting game, it would exciting. Everyone expects a goal from a striker. I just want to play an important role for my team and always want to be on the winning side.

“If I score, I would celebrate with a dance.”
