Guinea hopeful of last four spot

Even before lining up against Ghana in the opening game of the African Cup of Nations, Guinea, have their sights on a last four place.

Guinea arrived today, thus becoming the third participating nation to arrive for the competition. Zambia were the first to arrive before Ghana followed up from their camp base in the United Arab Emirates.

The Syli National touched down in Accra, Wednesday evening for the competition which begins on Sunday.

Ghana plays Group A challengers, Guinea, in the first match of the tournament at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra.

And Robert Nouzaret’s team remains hopeful of making it past the group stage. Even before their first group match, the Syli National have their sights set on a place in the semi-finals.

Guinea captain, Pascal Feindounou, though winning the competition is the sole target of the Syli National but first, they need to book a spot in the last four.

"We are in Ghana to improve upon our previous records in the tournament by booking a place in the semi finals of the competition.

“We are well prepared for the tournament and nothing would stop us from achieving our target." Pascal Feindounou said upon arrival.
