Accra Great Olympics FC and champions Asante Kotoko will battle for points in the betPawa Premier League as they face each other at the Sogakope Park Thursday.

Great Olympics will be playing at Sogakope for the second time since they moved their home venue from the Accra Sports stadium.

Both teams need the points for varied reasons – while Great Olympics need the points to boost their survival chances, Asante Kotoko aim to win to reduce the gap to leaders Aduana FC.

The Dade boys have amassed 32 points and occupy the 16th position – two places below 15th placed Nsoatreman FC who are on 34 points.

Asante Kotoko trail Aduana FC by eight points and sit in 5th place in the League standings and a win will take them to the 4th position in the League log.

The Reds go into the game buoyed by the 2-1 win against league leaders Aduana FC in Kumasi.

Christopher Nettey will line up against his former club for the first time since his summer move to the capital club having previously played for Asante Kotoko for four seasons. Great Olympics coach Bismark Koby Mensah is reeling under pressure having won only twice in his last 9 matches following victories against Accra Hearts of Oak and Berekum Chelsea.

Abdul Razak Yussif, Razak Kasim, Abdul Bashiru, Philip Nii Kojo Sackey, Christopher Nettey and Samuel Ashie Quaye, Ebenezer Sekyere, Solomon Adomako and Oko Grippman are all available for selection.

Frederick Asare, Augustine Agyapong, Mohammed Alhassan, Yussif Mubarik, Richard Boadu, Eric Zeze, Stephen Mukwala and Richmond Lamptey are all aiming to start for Asante Kotoko.

Elsewhere in Tamale – Real Tamale United will battle Karela United FC at 6pm at the Aliu Mahama stadium.
