Grant's team to find out their Afcon group in Malabo

The continent's focus is fixed on the draw for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday evening, with Ghana waiting for news on who they will face in next year's competition.

On a day when new Black Stars coach Avram Grant begins to familiarise himself with his employers and backroom staff in Accra, his assistant, Maxwell Konadu will hold the fort in Malabo for the draw, which will reveal where his squad will be based and who they will be playing in the competition.

Grant after his engagements will find out whoever they are drawn out to face in his first competition on the continent.

All qualified 16 teams for the 17 January to 8 February finals have been divided into four pots.

Ghana, who will go into the 30th edition of the tournament as the top-ranked team on 48 points are among the top seeds for the draw which will be held from 18:00 GMT.

The Black Stars together with former winners Zambia, Ivory Coast and hosts Equatorial Guinea are the top seeds for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Over 200 guests will be present for the draw, including CAF President Issa Hayatou and the President of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi.

Pot 1: Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Zambia

Pot 2: Burkina Faso, Mali, Tunisia, Algeria

Pot 3: Cape Verde, South Africa, Cameroon, Gabon

Pot 4: Guinea, Senegal, DR Congo, Congo

Pot 1 includes the top seeds and hosts Equatorial Guinea will be accorded the position A1.

The first part of the draw will be to designate the groups for the other top seeds; Ghana, Ivory Coast and Zambia. The balls containing the names of the countries will be placed in a pot and indexes B1, C1, D1 in another pot.

The second stage will see the drawing of teams from pot 4 with the first to be drawn designated the position A4, B4 and so on.

The operation will be repeated identically for the other pots.
