Gold Fields extends deal with Black Stars

Gold Fields Ghana Limited has extended its partnership with the senior national team, the Black Stars after announcing a new deal today.

The new deal which runs till next year, 2012 has seen a rise in the sponsorship package from $1.2m per year to $1.5m.

The Black Stars will receive an annual sponsorship package of $1.5m from headline sponsors, Gold Fields Ghana Limited, as the deal runs into its 7th year.

GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi initialed for the sport body while Alfred Baku, Executive Vice President of Gold Fields Ghana Limited signed for the mining company.

Goldfields first signed on to sponsor the Black Stars in 2005 for three years. The deal was subsequently extended to 2011 b the mining company with operations in Tarkwa and Damang in the Western Region on Ghana.
