Ahead of today’s AFCON Group C opener against Senegal, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), has called on the team to lift high the flag of Ghana, urging Ghanaians to rally behind them.

In a message delivered to the team at its Hotel Mongomo Camp Sunday, titled Black Stars, Rise Again!, GNPC Chief Executive, Mr. Alex Mould said he was confident the team had trained well and urged them to employ discipline, teamwork, professionalism and confidence to make Ghana proud.

A statement released by the Headline sponsors stated that:

“In our first year of partnership with you, as your Headline Sponsor, you made us at Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), and all Ghanaians proud by making it to the last four of the continent’s soccer best. That was at AFCON 2013.

Our common vision is to make Ghana a global leader for the benefit of our people.

Your aspirations for success like ours are shared by all Ghanaians, uniting them as one when you are playing.

You are talented and have the skills required to achieve the ultimate goal at AFCON 2015 in Equatorial Guinea.

We are confident that you have trained well. We urge you therefore to employ discipline, teamwork, professionalism and confidence in this Tournament to make our nation proud!

GNPC wishes the players and management of the Black Stars a great Tournament!

We are urging all fans to rally behind you once more to lift high the flag of Ghana.”
