Ghana would engage Niger on Sunday in its most difficult game since its first game of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Sudan eight days ago.

The final Group B game represents the last chance for coach Herbert Addo's side to possibly wrestle their failing hopes of progressing past the group stage of the competition.

Having lost their two previous games, Ghana, with no point, face an uphill task of booking a place in the last eight of the competition designed by the Confederation of African Football (Caf) for Africa-based players.

Losing finalist at the maiden competition two years ago, Ghana have suffered defeats to South Africa and Zimbabwe, meaning Sunday's game is a must win for a possible qualification and pride.

For Herbert's side, the stakes are high but very clear. Qualification is not within their hands anymore amid much expectation prior to the start of the competition in Sudan.

Sitting at the bottom of the four-team Group B table, Ghana must win against Niger by a healthy margin and hope Zimbabwe lose to South Africa in the final round of group matches.

However, striker Emmanuel Clottey believes they have one final chance to right the wrongs.

"We want to correct out mistakes and we have one more chance to do that," he said after issuing an apology for their poor run so far.

Group winners and runners-up qualify for the quarter-finals in the 16-nation competition.
