Ghana's chances of qualifying for the semi-final of the African Youth Championship goes to the wire after rallying to draw 1-1 with Gambia on Thursday.

The Black Satellites now have a point from two games ahead of the final Group B game against leaders, Cameroon - who have booked their place in the semi-final of the competition after defeating Nigeria 1-0 - on Sunday.

Richmond Boakye-Yiadom scored with 10 minutes of play left to salvage a point for the defending champions after Gambia had taken a 23rd minute lead through Boubacar Jammeh.

However, Gambia's goalscorer, Jammeh, did not last the full length of the match after he was dismissed for a double-footed challenge on Ghana right-back Richmond Nketiah just before the break.

Ghana hit the woodwork twice as the Black Satellites kept on the pressure for the match winner.

The Black Satellites must now win against Cameroon to possibly qualify for the last four of the competition and a 2011 Fifa Under-20 World Cup qualification place depending on the way the other result goes to be assured of a place in the last four.
