Ghana names roster for 4-nations duty

Black Stars coach, Claude Le Roy hands out debut call ups to six players as he names his 26-man squad for this month’s four-nation tournament.

Etoile Du Sahel duo, Mussa Nary and Sadat Bukari – who both players won the CAF Champions league title at the weekend – are named in the squad for the competition which kicks off on November 17 and runs to November 21.

Asec Mimosa’s Nafiu Iddrisu who plays for the Olympic team, the Black Meteors gets his first senior call up.

Three players, Daniel Addo of Kessben FC, Addoquaye Addo of Heart of Lions and Liberty Professionals’ Kwadwo Asamoah who feature in the domestic league, have also been invited to make up the debutants list of four.

Russian-based striker, Baffour Gyan returns to the team after a two-year absence, with his last game for Ghana coming in 2005.

Also returning to the squad after two years is defender Kofi Amponsah who plays in Greece.

Eight of the 26 players invited by Claude Le Roy will feature for the Olympic football team which plays Nigeria on Friday, November 16, a day before the four-nation competition kicks off.

Ghana, host of the tournament, would test their strength against United Arab Emirates, Benin and Togo when the competition kicks off at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra.
