Ghana is set to participate in both the boys’ and girls’ categories of the CAF African Schools Football Championship WAFU-B Qualifiers, scheduled to take place from 29th November to 4th December 2025 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

Organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the championship brings together the finest young football talents from schools across West Africa to compete for a coveted place in the continental finals.

The WAFU-B Zone features several football powerhouses, including Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Benin, Niger and hosts Burkina Faso, setting the stage for a highly competitive and exciting tournament.

Ghana heads into this year’s qualifiers with confidence, having enjoyed remarkable success in the previous edition. The Ghanaian teams were crowned WAFU-B zonal champions, before going on to shine on the continental stage,  with the girls’ team winning the main tournament hosted at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, while the boys’ team secured third place.

With preparations underway, expectations are high that Ghana will once again demonstrate its pedigree in youth football and secure qualification for the continental finals.

The CAF African Schools Football Championship is part of CAF’s wider commitment to promoting grassroots football development across Africa.
