Ghana’s four-nation tourney slated for next month would see a new entrant, Sudan, taking the place of Guinea, who were originally billed to play in the competition.

The Ghana Football Association has confirmed the Sudanese for the tournament which would be played at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra – one of the match venues for the 2008 African Cup of Nations – when the competition kicks off on November 17 and runs to the 21st.

Sudan stepped in after Guinea, group opponents of host, Ghana, in next year’s African Cup of Nations pulled out following the draw for the finals.

Two African sides, Sudan and Benin together with Middle-East nation, the United Arab Emirates are the three sides lined up alongside Ghana for the competition which would utilise the days available on the FIFA match roster for international games.

All four sides would play two games apiece as Ghana keep their preparations going for the Cup of Nations.

Both Sudan and Benin have already booked their places for the Nations Cup qualifiers.

Sudan’s Desert Hawks emerged as one of the surprise candidates for the finals of the 26th edition of Africa Cup of Nations while Benin, qualified as one of the best runners-up nations during the qualifying series.

The tourney would afford Ghana coach, Claude Le Roy, the chance to see his team play and react before an expectant home crowd before the African Cup of Nations kick off on January 20 - February 10.

Ghana would round up on international engagements ahead of the African Cup of Nations with the hosting of a four-nation tournament in November.
