For a campaign that has already been blighted by injuries to star players, Coach Milovan Rajevac is hoping Ghana captain Richard Kingson doesn't add up to the list of African Nations Cup absentees through injury.

Kingson, one of the few experienced players available to the Black Stars, who face champions Egypt in Sunday's final is nursing an injury.

The shot stopper has been in great form as he pulled off great saves to help Ghana reach the finals, its first after 18 years.

Despite playing on in the 1-0 semi-final win over Nigeria, Kingson had to be taken to hospital in Luanda on Friday to undergo tests on a groin problem after picking up the injury in last Sunday's 1-0 quarter-final win over hosts Angola.

Having aided Ghana's rise, Rajevac is now awaiting news on the goalkeeper's injury with the final just two days away.

"Richard has had to skip a couple of training sessions because of the injury. And as you saw he was feeling it yesterday, using only his left foot.

"He is in hospital today to have tests and treatment, but I'm hopeful he will be able to play on Sunday.

"He really wanted to play against Nigeria, he wanted to help them with his experience," the Ghana coach said on Friday.
