GFA trains Match Coordinators ahead of new season

The Ghana Football Association had held a day’s training workshop for Match Coordinators for Premier, Division One and the Women’s League Competitions.

The workshop which was held on Tuesday 17 December at the GFA Secretariat forms part of the GFA’s stakeholders engagements ahead of the commencement of the 2019/20 football season.

CAF General Coordinator Mark Addo and other GFA administrators took the coordinators through the core functions they will be expected on Matchdays and the roles they will perform at the respective match venues.

Head of the GFA IT department Francis Essah also took the coordinators through some aspects of the Competition Management System and also lectured on assist match officials during match days.

Match Coordinators were also advised on how to dress appropriately on matchdays as per international practices.

The match coordinators will be deployed to match venues that will be approved by the Club Licensing Board for the respective competitions.

The use of match coordinators this season, is an innovation from the newly formed GFA competitions department as part of efforts to improve professionalism in the leagues.
