The Football Association has intensified preparations for the 2026/27 Women’s Premier League with a one-day training seminar for Match Commissioners ahead of the new season, scheduled to kick off on the weekend of October 23–26, 2026.
Held at the GFA Conference Room in Accra, the seminar brought together Match Commissioners from across the country who will oversee match operations throughout the upcoming campaign.
The training focused on key aspects of match organisation and management, equipping participants with the knowledge and practical guidance needed to ensure the effective administration of fixtures and the consistent application of competition regulations.
Key topics covered included the roles and responsibilities of Match Commissioners, competition regulations and directives, integrity and ethical standards, safety and security protocols, match reporting, and the use of the Competition Management System (CMS).
Facilitators from the GFA’s Competitions, IT, Refereeing, Integrity, and Safety and Security Departments led the sessions.
Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring the uniform application of regulations and strengthening collaboration among Match Commissioners, referees, clubs, and other stakeholders to promote the smooth and efficient delivery of matches.
The seminar forms part of the GFA’s broader efforts to raise professional standards, improve match administration, and strengthen operational efficiency across the Women’s Premier League.
