President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, the Executive Council, and all staff, will hold a special two-day interfaith thanksgiving service in appreciation of the Black Stars’ qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The thanksgiving events will bring together football stakeholders, religious leaders, and fans to express gratitude to God for Ghana’s successful qualification — the nation’s fifth appearance on the global stage and second consecutive qualification after the 2022 edition in Qatar.
The first service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Imam Malik Hamburg Mosque in Maamobi, Accra at 2:00 p.m., where Muslim members of the football fraternity will join in prayer and thanksgiving.
A second service will follow on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Christ the King Anglican Church in Sakumono beginning at 3:00 p.m. to allow Christian members to also express their appreciation.
All participants are expected to attend in white attire, symbolizing unity, purity, and gratitude as the football community celebrates this milestone.
The GFA President, Executive Council members, staff, and other football stakeholders are expected to attend both services as part of efforts to foster togetherness and thank God for another proud moment in Ghana’s football history.
