GFA to engage 300 girls in FIFA Women's Football Campaign at WAFA Academy

The Ghana Football Association (GFA), through its Women's Football Department, will roll out another edition of the FIFA Women's Football Campaign on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the WAFA Academy in Fiavie, Volta Region.

The initiative forms part of FIFA's global commitment to growing the women's game by introducing more young girls to football while creating opportunities for them to develop their talent in a fun and inclusive environment.

A total of 300 girls from schools and communities within the Volta Region are expected to participate in the programme, which will feature football activities, skills development sessions, fun games and interactive engagements.

The campaign also aligns with the objectives of the Ghana Women's Football Strategy (2023–2026), which seeks to increase participation, identify young talent and promote gender inclusion through football across the country.

GFA Women’s football development officer Jennifer Amankwah Sarpong , Officials from the GFA, coaches and facilitators will lead the sessions, providing participants with an enjoyable introduction to the game while encouraging them to pursue football both recreationally and competitively.

The FIFA Women's Football Campaign continues to play a key role in expanding access to football for young girls, reinforcing the GFA's commitment to developing the women's game from the grassroots level.
