The Football Association organised a one-day seminar for Match Commissioners on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, as part of preparations for the start of the 2026/27 football season.

The training session, held at the headquarters of the Ghana Football Association, brought together Match Commissioners for discussions and capacity-building ahead of the new campaign.

General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo led the session, with focus on key areas aimed at strengthening matchday organisation, safety, security and the overall administration of football competitions. The seminar provided further clarity on the roles and responsibilities of Match Commissioners, who play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth organisation and proper conduct of matches.

Discussions covered the effective conduct of technical meetings, which remain an essential aspect of matchday preparations and coordination among the various stakeholders involved in a football match. Other topics included management of the Competition Management System (CMS), led by Deputy General Secretary and Director of IT, Francis Adu Essah. Integrity Officer Obed Tuffuor took participants through Integrity lessons, while CAF Safety and Security Officer and Managing Director of Accra Hearts of Oak, Julius Ben Emunah, touched on Safety and Security across league centres.

Participants also received further guidance on Club Licensing, match reporting, with emphasis on the importance of accurate, comprehensive and timely reports in supporting effective decision-making and competition management. The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League will kick off on Friday, September 05, 2026, with the match between Vision FC and Young Apostles opening the campaign.
