The Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) free License D Coaching Course is currently underway at the Koforidua Sports Stadium for colts club coaches under the Eastern Regional Football Association (RFA). The initiative, which forms part of the GFA’s broader vision to strengthen grassroots football development, began earlier this week and has seen strong participation from local youth team coaches.

This year's edition marks the second time the Eastern Region is benefitting from the free License D course, following a successful rollout in the previous year. The program aims to equip colts coaches with foundational technical knowledge and coaching techniques to improve youth football at the grassroots level.

Thirty colts club coaches from across the region are taking part in the one-week intensive course. They are being taken through both theoretical and practical sessions covering essential topics such as coaching principles, child development, football techniques, and injury prevention.

The ongoing training reflects the GFA’s commitment to developing qualified personnel capable of nurturing young talents across the country. By offering these courses at no cost, the GFA is removing barriers and ensuring that more coaches have access to structured football education.

Officials from the Eastern RFA have expressed satisfaction with the turnout and level of engagement by the participants, describing the course as a crucial investment in the future of Ghanaian football. The course is expected to end on a high note, with coaches earning their License D certifications to enhance their work in youth development.
