GFA Vice President Fred Crentsil has reiterated the Association's commitment to developing women football in Ghana.

Speaking at the "Live Your Goals" football clinic organised for Under 15 girls, Mr. Crentsil said the GFA has earmarked various projects such as this project aimed at promoting the development of women football.

He added that FIFA's "Live Your Goals" project falls in line with the GFA plans to generate the interest of young girls in football.

"The GFA has always attached importance to women football and this programme is one of such strategies to ensure that Ghana becomes a top female football nation.

"This will also ensure that we always get talented female footballers who can keep qualifying the country for female tournaments", the GFA veep stated at the event which was held at the Nicholson Stadium in Accra.

Whiles lauding FIFA for this concept, Mr. Crentsil added that the project will help change the mentality people have towards women football.

He therefore charged the young participants to take advantage of such programmes to unearth their talents and see the many opportunities for ladies in football.

Mr. Crentsil who is the General Coordinator for all national teams, also expressed his excitement at the Black Queens' performance at the All Africa games which has earned the nation a gold medal at the competition.

"This shows that our women football is not going down", he added.

The "Live Your Goals"(LYG) concept was initiated by football’s world governing body, FIFA, in 2011 during the Women’s World Cup in Germany.

The programme aims at encouraging more females in general, and young girls in particular, to participate, and stay involved in football.
