The stakes are high with the scripts still rolling for either side as Ghana and Germany appear on the brink of World Cup elimination or progression.
Either side still has a chance to reach the second round despite the Black Stars chasing their first win to put them back in contention for a second round place and the German's aiming to secure victory to earn their spot in the round of 16.
A tough match is expected at the Estadio Castelao in Fortaleza when the two sides who met in a similar group contest in South Africa four years ago meet up again.
Mario Gotze says Germany, who beat the Black Stars 1-0 in a similar group meeting in their last meeting cannot become complacent.
“It won’t be easy given Ghana now need three points no matter what. It will be a very tough game, but we can be confident about it,” Gotze told FIFA.com.
Ghana, chasing their first three points after suffering a 2-1 defeat against the United States remains a threat to the Germans, who opened their campaign with a 4-0 win against Portugal.
"Our performance shouldn't be overstated, as there were some things that simply went well for us. In some situations we were just lucky.”
