Real Tamale United are hoping to return back into the top flight at the first time of asking with Mohammed Gargo keen to lead that revival.

The club finished in the relegation bracket of the Glo Premier League and are billed to take part in the second tier competition, next season after 33 years in the top flight.

"We actually want to do it within one season and with the type of players we have if probably I am not blowing my horn and if probably I had been the head coach from the beginning we would not have gone down," Gargo said.

Gargo, a former Ghana international wants to be handed the challenge of returning the club as he reckons the club would not have gone down if he had been in charge for the entire season.

"I will love to stay with RTU because I really want to prove a point. You could see before I took over from Telat Uzum RTU was already more or less relegated because we lost almost eleven matches. I would love to stay and make sure RTU bounces back immediately," he said.

However, his position as the man to lead RTU for the next campaign remains unresolved, atleast for now.

"My CEO really wants me to stay. He has the say but we also have to rely on the board of directors. They will have a meeting soon and decide if I am the man to continue."
