The midfielder, who last week pulled out of the England U-21 side, confirmed his decision to play for Ghana on his twitter account.

Frimpong signed the documents to enable him complete his nationality switch and is now awaiting the outcome of the process.

"I have done my part for the love of the country now lets wait and see the outcome……," Frimpong posted.

Frimpong on Monday was in the stands at Craven Cottage to cheer on the Black Stars in their friendly with Brazil and met with officials of the Ghana Football Association after the game.

“It is true that we have met Frimpong and he has signed the document to enable him complete his nationality switch to play for Ghana,” GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi confirmed.

Frimpong, a graduate of Arsenal’s academy has represented England at under-16 and 17 level and has also been called up to the under-19 team in the past.
