Five Ghanaian football officials have been appointed to various roles for the WAFU B U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying tournament, which kicks off in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on Saturday, October 10, 2026.
Patrick Akoto has been named Assistant General Coordinator, while Referees Manager Alex Kotey will serve as a Commission Member and Assessor. Emmanuel Kpab has also been assigned to the Information Technology (IT) department for the 13-day competition.
Meanwhile, Selorm Yao Bless will officiate as a referee, with Seth Abletor appointed as an assistant referee.
The tournament will bring together seven nations alongside hosts Burkina Faso, with Ghana, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Niger and Togo competing for the coveted qualification spot at the continental showpiece.
The participating countries will be eager to deliver strong performances as they battle for the opportunity to represent the WAFU B zone at the next Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
The qualifiers will run until October 23 in Ouagadougou, with the competing nations seeking to secure their place among Africa’s leading youth football teams.
