Fines compounds Wise woes

Eleven Wise have a huge fine to settle following crowd troubles witnessed during their match-day-26 home fixture against AshantiGold on April 11.

Aside their four-match home ban which has attracted a GH¢ 4,000 fine, the Sekondi-based side battling to survive the drop now have to also pay up GH¢ 7,000 and €16, 845 for attacks on officials and destruction of broadcasting equipments.

The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association has ordered Wise to pay OMP, the television rights holders of the premiership an amount of €16, 845 for cost of replacement for the company’s damaged Outside Broadcasting [OB] cables and accessories.

Wise will also need to foot a bill estimated at GH¢ 7,000 for repairs to the damaged GFA video camera.

This is the second disciplinary decision to have gone against Wise within six weeks.

The club have seen goalkeeper Theophilus Jackson start a twelve calendar months ban after being found guilty for assaulting Hearts of Oak striker, Samuel Affum during a league.

Wise also picked up a GH¢3,000 fine for the misconduct of its supporters after that particular league match with Hearts.
