Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan and two teammates, Andre Ayew and Harrison Afful were described as the key players in the Black Stars at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

FIFA's Technical Study Group - TSG, singled out the trio in their post-tournament report released on Thursday.

Though Ghana were ranked 25th after the 32-team tournament and exited in the first round, the TSG report handed out rave reviews for the trio.

GYAN Asamoah: team leader, mobile, creates opportunities for team-mates by running wide or dropping deep to draw defence out, skilful and powerful

AYEW Andre: mobile and energetic, leaves opponents unbalanced by creating room with his movement, excellent headed goal versus Germany

AFFUL Harrison: efficient in both defence and attack, excellent crosses from the right, strong in one-on-one situations in attack and defence, skilful and fast

Also, the style of Ghana's play came in for praise with the TSG noting the following as positives:

- Good links between the team lines

- Midfield pressing

- Patient build-up play from the back through the midfield

- Attacks using the width

- Effective use of full-backs

- Good individual technique

- Athletic players

The main findings and comprehensive statistics of the 64-match analysis will be discussed with delegations from the various confederations expected to deliberate on the report.
