The festive season would see the last of the preliminary round fixtures of the MTN FA Cup matches played.

Clubs would be competing for their places ahead of the draw for the Round of 64.

Over the next two days, beginning on Boxing Day, there would be 16 matches involving clubs from the Division One and Two leagues, though the Division One clubs dominate the fixture pile.

From a tall list of 96 clubs, forty-eight sides would emerge from the preliminary round.
