After the Black Stars arrived from the 2015 African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea where Ghana placed second, Coach Avram Grant sat down with Ghanafa.org to share his thoughts on various issues.

The Black Stars head coach expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for the support they showed to him personally and the Blacks during and after the tournament.

“The last few days have been very touching to see Ghanaians come in to thank me for giving the team hope and bringing back the pride so I also want to thank Ghanaians because its very touching to see that respect the job you’ve done”, Coach Avram Grant said in an exclusive interview Ghanafa.org.

On his assessment of Ghanaian players after the tournament, he said: “How they recovered from the first match, win in the last minute, win when we needed to win against South Africa from one goal down and then quarter finals and semi finals, I don’t remember any team that has recorded 3-0 results twice at this stage of any tournament and even the final was better.”

The experienced Israeli trainer also revealed that he intends to keep Asamoah Gyan as Captain of the Black Stars so far as he remains as coach of the senior national team.

Coming after he watched the First Capital Premier League match between, Hearts of Oak and New Edubiase, Grant reiterated his intentions to watch more matches in the local League and identify players for national team call ups.

Amongst the issues discussed the coach confirmed that he intends to travel to Senegal to watch the 2015 African Youth Championship and see the next generation of players for the Black Stars.
