Ghana goalkeeper Richard Kingson is poised to join a major European team before the start of next season.

The 29-year-old opted to leave English side Birmingham City last month after playing in just three matches in his one season at the club.

Several European sides have been alerted about his availability on a free transfer with French giants Lyon keen to sign the Ghanaian shot stopper.

Also interested are another French club Marseille as well as Wigan in the English Premiership while Swedish club Hammarby are also keen.

"My agent has told me that several clubs are interested in signing me in France, England and Sweden," Kingson said.

Kingson and his agents are expected to hold talks with the interested clubs after the completion of June's World Cup qualifiers.
