Ghana midfielder, Michael Essien has consistently picked up an award after every game at the African Cup of Nations that he has played so far.

Essien on Thursday went home with the MTN Most Valuable Player award after Ghana pipped Namibia 1-0 to go top of Group A. This is award is given to the overall best player of the game.

The player was presented with the Most Valuable Player award at the post-match press conference.

He has so far picked up all the individual awards that have come the Black Stars’ way in the tournament.

Michael Essien first won the Samsung Fair-Play awarded handed out to the deserving player after Ghana’s opening day win over Guinea on Sunday.
