Michael Essien has travelled to Ghana to help Chelsea in the Right To Play project.

Right To Play, Chelsea's global charity partner, is on a mission to raise awareness about disease, poverty and war through sport.

And Essien insists it is important for him to do anything he can to aid the project.

"I love my country and I will do anything to help my country to achieve something," he told Sky Sports News.

Jose Mourinho has also gone to Ghana to support Right To Play and is happy with the way things have turned out.

The Chelsea manager has also been amazed by the reception Essien has received in his homeland.

"He is the king and I think everything together has worked very well," said Mourinho.

"Right to Play is a good organisation, Chelsea is a big name and Essien is the king of Ghana."
