Champions Eastern Region and Greater Accra have emerged as the standout performers in the MTN Elite U19 Team of the Tournament, following the successful conclusion of the maiden edition on Sunday, November 2, 2025. The Team of the Tournament, selected by a technical study group, comprises one goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders (two attacking and one defensive), two wingers and one centre forward. Tournament winners Eastern Region lead the selections with three players: Ishmael Azaganor (Goalkeeper), Osman Nuru-Deen (Right-Back) and Prince Boakye (Attacking Midfielder). Greater Accra also produced three outstanding performers, Kennedy Appiah (Defender), Aaron Salifu (Attacking Midfielder) and Yussif Saani (Left Winger). Ashanti Region followed closely with two representatives, Morgan Asenso (Left-Back) and Desmond Tutu (Defensive Midfielder), both of whom impressed with their tactical discipline and composure on the ball. The remaining spots were filled by players from Western, Brong Ahafo and Volta Regions, with Abdul Rafiu Alhassan (Centre-Back – Western), Gideon Otabil (Right Winger – Brong Ahafo) and Nathaniel Adanu (Centre Forward – Volta) completing the elite lineup. Eastern Region wrote their name into the history books as the first-ever champions of the MTN Elite U19 Championship, defeating Brong Ahafo in a tense penalty shootout at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence. The championship featured ten regional teams from across Ghana and served as a vital platform for young footballers to showcase their talent, gain valuable competitive experience, and attract the attention of national selectors and professional scouts.
