Despite struggling in the domestic competition, Ebusua Dwarfs are determined to push on in the CAF Confederations Cup.

The Ghanaian Premier League side will this weekend host Angola's Petro Atletico in the first leg of the first round at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast.

Sitting a place above bottom on the log, Dwarfs appear unperturbed about their domestic worries though they face a tough side in their bid to qualify with the first leg on Sunday.

With their last participation in the continental competition coming some 14 years ago, Rashid Iddi, assistant coach of Dwarfs who stared in the team’s last campaign says they have the quality to progress.

“With the kind of technical quality we have, I see this club going very far. We also have quality in the team and I have an undying confidence in what this team can do.” Iddi said.

Failure to land the trophy, according to Iddi could be considered a failure.

“We will consider it a failure if we do not lift the Cup,” the Dwarfs assistant coach.

For the Club's Beninois import, David Gomez, the competition is an exciting experience.

“It is my first experience ever in a continental competition and I am very excited to play my part.

“We know it will be tough to win the trophy because no team will be easy. I used to watch Atletico a long time ago when I was little, now I get to play against them and we are ready because we work very hard,” Gomez said.
