Dwarfs secure opening day win

Ebusua Dwarfs and Medeama FC will enter their match-day-2 games in the Division One promotion league with confidence after picking up opening day wins.

The competition got underway in two zones - II and III - on Saturday for the three premier league places.

Dwarfs, hoping to return to the topflight again were 5-3 winners over Westham at the Tema Park ahead of their next game against Mine Stars on Thursday.

Medeama who are making their debut season managed a 1-0 win over Mine Stars at the Ohene Djan Stadium.

In Zone III, FC Nania had to come from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Tema Youth Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast while Mighty Jets flew past Pure Joy 1-nil at the Sekondi Sports Stadium.

Mighty Jets will be seeking to continue with their winning start when they host Tema Youth to the Robert Mensah Stadium while Pure Joy take on FC Nania at the Sekondi Sports Stadium.

Matches in Zone I have been put on hold due to an unresolved legal matter.

According to the Division One League Board, the Disciplinary Committee are to decide Bazooka FC's protest against Samba FC for using player, Prince Kwakye, who is said to be unqualified.
