David Duncan selects 18 into the Black Meteors to represent Ghana at the WAFU Cup of Nations in Nigeria.

Ghana would open their campaign against Togo on Friday in Group B.

Duncan's Black Meteors are also paired in the same group with Senegal and Gambia for the ten-day championship which begins on May 5 and runs till May 15, 2011.

The WAFU championship would serve as a good build up towards the Olympic team's qualifying campaign for a place at this year's All Africa Games.

“Competitions like these are always important for teams and we’ll take it in our stride and see how it goes,” Duncan said.

“We try to put the best team as and when the players are available and then based on what the technical team thinks, the best are chosen for the national team.”

Hosts, Nigeria kick off the championship in Group A against Mali while Niger and Liberia also play in the other group game.
