Dreams FC beat Nsoatreman, Gold Stars outclass Great Olympics

Agyenim Boateng Mensah scored a brace as Dreams FC stormed to a 2-0 win over Nsoatreman FC at Nana Koramansah Park.

The CAF Confederation Cup campaigners announced their return to domestic football with an impressive display to down the Nsaotre based club on the road. The Still Believe lads had a perfect start to the game and stunned the home crowed with the opener in the 6th minute through Agyenim Boateng.

The lanky attacker outclassed the back line of Nsoatreman FC to slot home before adding the second goal in the 59th minute. Dreams FC controlled the game and looked more determined in the entire proceedings as their inter-positional showing looked easy on the eyes much to the admiration of the home fans.

Nsoatreman FC coach Maxwell Konadu made changes in the second half in search of a possible comeback but their effort came to naught. Mark Agyekum, Sadat Mohammed and Foster Apetorgbor came on for Stephen Diyou, Abdul Manaf Umar and Collins Cudjoe.

The home side kept pressing for a goal in the closing stages but Dreams FC held on to win the contest - their first win in the second round of the Ghana Premier League.

With two games in hand, Dreams FC are now 11th in the table with 25 points while Nsoatreman FC drops to the 5th spot with 30 points - five points of the top.

In Bibiani - Gold Stars outclassed Accra Great Olympics at DUN's Park. Richard Botchway scored a first half own goal in-between Alex Aso opener and Frank Amankwah's second half strike. Aso opened the scoring in the 3rd minute before Richard Botchway netted an own goal in the 41st minute. Back from the break, Frank Amankwah added to the tally in the 56th minute to wrap things up for the Miners.

Elsewhere in Dormaa, Bright Adjei scored the winning goal for Aduana FC in a hard earned 1-0 win over Legon Cities. The tw0-time champions who have a game in hand, needed a win to appease their fans after the home loss to FC Samartex on Matchday 18.

At Bechem - Joseph Kinful scored in the 2nd minute to give Bechem United a 1-0 win over leaders FC Samartex at Fosu Gyeabuor Park.

Meanwhile Champions Medeama gave away a first half lead to draw 1-1 with Nations FC at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports complex at Abrankese on their return to the Ghanaian domestic football.

Fatawu Sulemana gave Medeama SC  a deserved lead after converting a brilliant free-kick on 32 minutes. But the home team drew level after Asamoah Boateng Afriyie pounced on an error just before the half time whistle.  The draw leaves Medeama SC in 10th place with 26 points with two games in hand as Nations sit in fourth place with 31 points four points adrift of leaders FC Samartex.

Finally on Sunday, Kpando Heart of Lions scored two late goals to beat bottom-placed Real Tamale United. After a barren first half, Ebenezer Abban broke the deadlock in the 89th minute to put Lions in front before Akwasi Mahama Raf scored in stoppage time to hand the points to Lions.

Lions are now 16th with 21 points, while, RTU remain rooted to the bottom of the league standings with 18 points.
